Helen Gilbert is the founder and director of The Learning Enrichment Center and the co-founder of Veladare School. She was one of the original classroom teachers at Eton School and developed and implemented the Eton curriculum for students in grades 4 through 8. Helen has been a presenter of Montessori Teacher Training Seminars and workshops featuring adaptations of Montessori materials into traditional classroom settings.
Helen designed theunique educational enrichment programsused by The Learning Enrichment Center, integrating traditional mainstream teaching, the multi-sensory Montessori Method, and a curriculum of original materials.
Helen received her B. A. Cum Laude from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois with election to Phi Beta Kappa, and she has completed the University of Washington Fifth Year Graduate Program in Education Curriculum and Instruction. She has completed other graduate studies at Seattle University, University of Colorado, University of Northern Colorado, and Northern Illinois University. She holds state teaching certificates in four states, Montessori Teacher Certification, and has worked as a tutor and classroom teacher for public and private elementary, middle, and high schools.
